We love our mamas.
And we bet you do too. So we decided to dedicate this Cooking in Dresses feature to Mother's Day, coming up soon on March 21st!
If you've read our previous features, you know that we usually work with a professional chef or a super-talented lady in the kitchen, to prepare a full-course meal. She recommends the menu, cooks the dishes, and shares all the recipes with our readers. All we have to do is wear pretty dresses and eat that yumminess (very tough job).
But this time we did things a bit differently - because Mother's Day means we need to go out of our way to do something extra special. If you agree, then here's our idea: prepare a delicious 5-recipe brunch meal for her. And that's just what we did.
Having said that, don't worry: we aren't exactly chefs either, nor can we create wonders in the kitchen. That's why we went to our good friend, who happens to be an amazingly talented chef hitting the Beirut scene hard with her incredible food and desserts, Rouba Khalil.
Officially known as Rouba Khalil Kitchen
Her signature stamp below will look pretty familiar if you ever grabbed those heavenly packaged desserts at Meat the Fish, one select eatery in Saifi Village where she exclusively provides desserts.
Rouba started her kitchen career in New York City after leaving her financial engineering job on Wall Street. The change came through a passion for food and wine and after a long soul searching trip in South America. She proceeded to develop her career and skills in the kitchens of several New York restaurants, including award winning “Jean Georges”, “Babbo” and “Boulud Sud”.
She moved back to Lebanon in 2012 and opened Rouba Khalil Kitchen, where she and her team have been cooking seasonal market cuisine, catering to small private events and supplying select boutique eateries with some of her signature dishes and desserts.
Our Mother's Day Brunch
Okay back to our Mother's Day brunch.
The idea was for three daughters to prepare brunch for their three moms, from a menu as recommended by Rouba. She gave us 5 recipes and while the mothers were sipping on some wine spritzers (courtesy of Domaine Wardy - read their wine white food pairing recommendations below), we worked away in the kitchen chopping, whisking and baking.
We are pretty proud of the result and had such wonderful brunch mother-daughter time (Rouba's menu was amateur-proof after all).
What do you think? Check it out!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Getting to wear beautiful dresses is always the most fun part, so can you imagine how great it was to wear dresses with our moms! DKNY gave us full access to their new Spring/Summer 2016 collection and we had an absolute ball trying on dresses together.

THIS WAS BROUGHT TO YOU BY DOMAINE WARDY
A very special thanks to Domaine Wardy that provided us with their Private Selection white wine bottle. It was super delicious to drink alone, additional to having it mixed with soda water for the wine spritzer.
Here it is, complete with a description of the bottle.
If you're on the lookout for other Domaine Wardy white wines, here are 4 more to keep note of.
Alternatively, read about all Domaine Wardy's white selections right here.
